When you have an expensive modular kitchen installed, you would want to take care of it. Kitchens are places where a lot of moisture oil, grease and different types of dirt accumulate in the process of cooking, cleaning, working with raw materials from the market and so forth. It thus can become a breeding ground for germs as well as the moisture and grease can destroy the materials of the cabinets and other units of the kitchen if not maintained and cleaned regularly.
When you have wooden cabinets installed, you would want to keep them dry by wiping them clean with a damp cloth and letting it dry completely. There are different types of cleaning polishes available to maintain the shine and coating of the wood cabinet finishes. Petroleum solvents, emulsion cleaners and wax polishes can be occasionally used to restore the shine back on your wooden cabinets.
Since cleaning solvents may consist of toxic and inflammable ingredients, it is best to avoid using them on a regular basis and just wipe off the surfaces with a soft cotton cloth. Mild detergent with warm water can be used to remove stubborn stains. However, abrasive cleaners should be avoided on wooden surfaces and the surfaces must always be wiped dry.
For everyday care, the best way to avoid difficult stains on your kitchen surfaces is to wipe off spills and water marks as and when they occur. The sink and dishwasher areas usually stay damp since continuously water spills on them. If not carefully cleaned, the moisture may seep through the coating and destroy the wooden doors and frames. Hence, wet towels and cleaning cloths should be hung away from thee surfaces after cleaning on separate towel racks.
When you are cleaning the hinges of doors or knobs and pulls, one can use a clean, soft cloth or mild detergent with warm water to rub off stubborn stains. After that, these components should be dried clean. Using brass or silver polishes is not recommended since they contain harsh chemicals which might destroy the coating on such items.
Non abrasive household cleaners can be used to clean melamine and thermofoil surfaces which are some of the popular materials in kitchen cabinet make. Such cleaners should not have ethyl alcohol or acetate and similar ingredients. For glass exteriors, a soft towel with the cleaning solution can be used to clean the surfaces. However, cloths soaked in such solutions should not be left on such surfaces for extended time.
In these ways modular kitchen maintenance and care can take place effectively.
